It is Time to Prepare for 2022 CPT

The implementation deadline for the newest version of CPT is January 1, 2022.  With just over 2 months to prepare, the time to plan and take action is now.  Identifying code changes, updating documentation and coding systems, fee schedules and charge description masters (CDM), as well as providing education to your providers and coders is critical to an organization’s revenue and compliance success.

The 2022 edition of CPT includes: 249 new codes 93 revised codes 63 deleted codes The most significant revisions impact the following: COVID-19 vaccines and administrations Category III, new technology Proprietary laboratory analyses (PLA) Digital medicine services  Principal care management (New service codes) We recommend you review the changes, in their entirety, with your IT, clinical, coding and CDM staff to ensure a successful and timely transition.  Taking important steps now will help prevent claims submission delays and costly denials while reducing compliance risk.
