CMS Issues Emergency Coverage Expansion of Telehealth Services

CMS Issues Emergency Coverage Expansion of Telehealth Services March 17, 2020

Today, CMS announced a waiver of the current telehealth coverage requirements to allow more providers the ability to offer telehealth and virtual services during the COVID-19 crisis.  Under the provisions released today, the OIG will also allow providers to waive or reduce a beneficiary’s cost sharing portion.

HBE will continue to monitor the rapidly changing rules.  We will also be hosting a special webinar to address the documentation, coding and coverage requirements for telehealth and virtual services.  The details of this special webinar will be released soon.

In the meantime, we are available to answer your questions and provide assistance.
